INNSIDE STORY
Gabs, goods, and great getaways for girlfriends

Leave the winter blues (and the boys) behind this spring. Grab a couple of girlfriends and come have fun in New Jersey!

Steel Magnolias, the classic story of female friendship struck up in a beauty salon in Louisiana, comes to the Paper Mill Playhouse stage in Millburn from March 5th through April 6th.

Second Saturday (March 8th) on Haddon Avenue in Collingswood sees painters, crafters, sculptors, photographers, musicians and food masters – a fun, frolicky place for friends to be on a Saturday evening.

Also on March 8th at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, join Haddad for Egyptian belly dancing and live authentic music from Egypt and Morocco.

At Jackson Premium Outlets in Jackson, of course you can shop till you drop, and also enjoy live traditional Irish music and dance performances by Champion Irish Step dancers on March 15th. [LINK shop till you drop to http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=54]

Step out the weekend of April 18th for the Jazz Festival in Cape May [LINK Jazz Festival in Cape May to http://www.capemayjazz.com/] and enjoy a weekend long street fair and festival on the Boardwalk in Wildwood from April 25th through 27th. And of course make it even more fun with a night or two at one of our preferred inns!

MEET THE INNKEEPERS

Bill & Nancy Moncrief
Candlelight Inn, North Wildwood

When Bill and Nancy acquired the 102 year-old Candlelight Inn they learned that this former private residence was built from a set of plans by the town's civil engineer, a man named Leaming Rice. It turns out that Bill's grandfather held the same position in Bill's hometown of Ocean City, a few islands north, around the same time. "We figured they must've known each other," says Bill of the coincidence.

As innkeepers he and Nancy enjoy the relationships they have with their visitors. "We both worked in customer service positions before, but in dealing with people, most of the time the feedback was negative or there was some kind of problem. Here it's reversed. We get mostly acknowledgements of a great time and appreciation of what we did for our guests."

Fun fact: Bill, who once worked in the DC area, says, "One of the great joys of running a B&B is the commute. There is none!"

EAT INN: A decadent and delicious strawberry recipe

Hailing from the legendary Aladdin's Restaurant in California, these Strawberry Cheese Blintzes show up on this B&B's breakfast table. (GrandLady by the Sea, Highlands)
